16 – 17 February 2017, Damiani and Damiani International Law Firm & Services partecipated as a speaker to the 4th Lawyer International Trade Fair, organised by the Bar Association of Barcelona (ICAB). The Fair gives the opportunity to lawyers of Law Firms coming from all over the world to meet vis-à-vis, exchange valuable information about the situation of their home markets and evaluate a possible cooperation between their firms.This year, the topic of the International meeting was ‘networking’.

At ICAB’s fair, this year, Damiani & Damiani talked about the historically favourable moment to invest in Italy, especially in Sicily. Due to the severe crysis in 2008, the Italian Government enforced a bundle of norms to boost local economy and investments. In Sicily, Palermo has been recently appointed as Youth Italian Capital in 2017 and Culture Italian Capital in 2018. Thus, the local Government encourages investments in the latter sectors, reducing taxes and providing grants to investors.
Big and especially medium-size entrepreneurs can benefit up-to 30% subjective taxation reductions in several business sectors such as technological innovations, renewable energy, bio-agriculture, tourism, etc. Investors can establish a company with only 1 euro capital, and maximum 900 euro expenses to open a business.
Furthermore, 100 million of non-refoundable grants are available until April to whom that decide to invest in technological innovation applied to agriculture and renewable energy in Sicily. Outstanding benefits are provided also for new hirings, in order to reduce labour costs.
